Unimedic Pharma supply the market with a wide range of licenced specialist pharmaceuticals within several therapeutic areas such as emergency care, pain management, infectious diseases, gastroenterology, urology and substance abuse.

In close collaboration with the healthcare sector, Unimedic Pharma develops pharmaceuticals for children and adults with special medical needs, pharmaceuticals which are supplied to the market as compounded drugs or licensed pharmaceuticals. We have a long tradition and experience in drug development, as well as in selecting optimal regulatory route for quick registration of pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

Unimedic Pharma is one of Sweden’s largest suppliers of unlicensed pharmaceuticals. An established network of suppliers in Europe and worldwide enable Unimedic Pharma to rapidly purchase and distribute unlicensed pharmaceuticals Unlicensed pharmaceuticals are important alternatives when the prescribing doctor, dentist or veterinarian lacks a licensed drug required to treat a patient or animal. Unlicensed drugs may also be relevant if a licensed pharmaceutical is out of stock.

The licence for an individual or patient group is granted by the Swedish Medical Products Agency based on a written statement from the prescriber. The pharmacy then applies for a temporary authorisation to dispense the drug. Unimedic Pharma has a well-established network of suppliers in Europe and worldwide which facilitates rapid acquisition and delivery of unlicensed pharmaceuticals. Unimedic Pharma handle all the documentation required for the acquisition of unlicensed pharmaceuticals. We continuously search the markets for new pharmaceuticals to further fulfil unmet medical needs, efforts which strengthens our ambition to contribute to better health.

Unimedic AB, sister company to Unimedic Pharma AB, is a full-service contract development and manufacturing organisation (CDMO) for pharmaceutical companies. Unimedic specializes in liquid pharmaceuticals and have long experience from sterile and non-sterile production. The CDMO is located in Matfors, outside Sundsvall in Sweden. The contract and manufacturing organisation started in the mid-60’s as an extempore pharmacy of the time, privately owned and located in Matfors. In the 1970’s, pharmacies were all nationalised and the laboratory in Matfors became part of ACO. Unimedic AB was founded in 1992 by Nils Ivrell, Lennart Leyonberg and Kenth-Olov Norman when Pharmacia ceased production. Since 2006, Unimedic is a wholly owned subsidiary of MedCap AB (publ), listed on Nasdaq Stockholm Mid Cap.

Unimedic has long experience of commercial contract manufacturing of pharmaceuticals. Our standard range include a wide choice of different types of containers like spray bottles, small/large plastic or glass bottles, ampoules, vials, sponges and sachets. Unimedic production lines are fully equipped to meet serialisation requirements. Unimedic conducts microbiological and chemical analyses of raw materials, water and finished products (in accordance with Swedish pharmaceutical standards and European Pharmacopoeia (Ph Eur)). Unimedic’s labelling and packing capabilities range from hand-packing to fully automatic packing lines. Unimedic offers a unique flexibility to customize batch-sizes.
